Phyllis M. Neel

Phyllis M. Neel, age 95, of Cheyenne, WY, and formerly of Dalton, NE, passed away on Tuesday, November 04, 2025 in Cheyenne. Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, November 14, 2025 at the United Church of the Plains in Dalton, NE with Pastor Leon “Bud” Gillespie officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to the Dalton Volunteer Fire Department.
Friends may stop by the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel on Thursday, November 13, 2025 to leave their condolences for the family. Family will not be present.

Born on May 18, 1930 in Gandy, NE to Herman and Gladys (Street) Pooschke. She was the fourth of six children. On December 16, 1950 Phyllis was united in marriage to Carl Everett Neel at the Presbyterian Church in Dalton, NE. They were married for 39 ½ years until he passed away on July 22, 1990. Together they had six children; Eddie, Alvina, Danny, Helen, Mona and Betty.
During the years of raising the family Phyllis worked beside her husband. She helped stack straw bales, then after they moved to the state of WA in May of 1963, they picked strawberries and other fruits, hauled sugar beets, weeded bean fields, hauled straw bales and many other endeavors. Later they returned to NE for a few years and then moved to Cheyenne WY. They flagged mobile homes until Carl retired.
She worked several years after that as a maid at the Hitching Post Motel. After she retired, she enjoyed her grandchildren and jigsaw puzzles.
Phyllis was baptized into the Baptist church on August 26, 1990 in Cheyenne WY, and lived at the Pinewood Village until she entered the Life Care Center of Cheyenne in January of 2016.
Survived by her son Eddie and wife Shirley Neel of Sidney, NE, daughter Mona Neel of Cheyenne, WY and Betty and husband Kevin Hullet of Bismark, ND. Her oldest grandchild Robert was born on her birthday May 18. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by husband Carl, parents Herman and Gladys, daughters Alvina and Helen, son Danny, all her brothers, sisters, in-laws, and one great-granddaughter Angel.
