IMPERIAL - Bridgeport’s girls and boys basketball teams earned hard-fought road wins Tuesday night in Imperial, with the Lady Bulldogs staying undefeated and the boys improving to 7-1.

In a tightly contested girls game, Bridgeport held off Chase County 44-39 behind a dominant effort from senior Ella Schluterbusch, who poured in a game-high 20 points. Schluterbusch knocked down a three-pointer and shot 7-of-12 from the free-throw line.

Freshman Reata Loomis stepped up big for the Lady Bulldogs, finishing with 12 points and going 6-of-12 from the line.

As a team, Bridgeport scored 19 of their 44 points from the charity stripe, shooting 19-of-34 overall and hitting one three.

Chase County was led by senior Karlie Anderson, who finished with 11 points and shot 2-of-3 from the line. Junior Ari McNair scored 9—all in the second half—and went 3-of-4 from the stripe.

The Lady Longhorns hit two three-pointers and went 11-of-22 from the free-throw line.

On the boys side, junior Hayes Watts led Bridgeport with 19 points, including one three-pointer and a 2-of-4 effort from the line.

Senior Gage Nein added 14 points, with 9 coming in the first quarter, and senior Logan Levick added 10.

The Bulldogs hit two threes and shot 5-of-16 from the line.

Chase County junior James Bomba paced the Longhorns with 20 points, hitting three three-pointers and going 5-of-7 from the stripe.

Junior Lukas Fries and senior Noah Rau each chipped in 10 points. The Longhorns knocked down three shots from beyond the arc and went 11-of-19 at the line.

With the win, the Bridgeport girls improve to 8-0 and the boys to 7-1. Both Chase County teams fall to 2-4. All four teams will be back in action at the Chadron Holiday Tournament, taking place December 29–31.
