Gering Firefighters Work with Multiple Crews to Contain Kincade Fire in California
GERING - The Gering Fire Department is sharing an update of the three firefighters sent to California to assist in controlling the Kincade Fire.
In a Facebook post Wednesday, the Department says the group and Engine 21 were assigned to a taskforce with 4 other engines to re-enforce other areas.
They say the three Gering firefighters worked closely with other resources to reduce fuel to the fire while 6 crews tackled 5 miles of line.
The post says that the Gering Firefighters are being taken care of and putting in solid work.
According to the Government of California, The Kincade Fire has destroyed 141 homes and is 60 percent contained.
