CHADRON - The CAPstone Child Advocacy Center of Chadron is holding an Open House this afternoon from 2:00-4:00 that begins with a Chamber of Commerce ribbon-cutting. CAPstone is at 316 Main, just south of Petersen's Drug-Just Love Coffee Cafe.

Forensic Interviewer and Community Outreach Coordinator Rebecca Fernau says CAPstone is excited to show off its new offices, which are normally closed to the general public for the privacy and safety of its clients.

The building has gone through multiple encarnations, including Platte Valley Savings and Loan - which had a mural in what was then the lobby that Fernau says just didn't fit with CAPstone. The result was a well-publicized tile project to replace the mural.

While Fernau is excited to show off how attractive the new office is, she's equally excited to be able to show off how remodeling has made the building better-suited to CAPstone's services such forensic interviews with young victims or witnesses.

Fernau hopes the public takes advantage of today's 2-4:00 Open House to not only see the revamped building, but also to network and discover what CAPstone is all about.
