SIDNEY - A unique icy contest won a Sidney woman $200 worth of groceries from Sonny's Super Foods on Monday.

Radio station 987 The Big Boy announced on Facebook "Sonny's Super Snow Mountain," located in the Sonny's parking lot on the corner of 10th Ave. and Toledo St., completely melted away on Saturday, March 2, 2024.

Four people correctly guessed the exact date the towering pile of snow would be melted to the bare concrete on  the station's FacebookTwitter, and Instagram pages, including Liz Green, Jodi Dougherty, Priscilla Zamudio-Vera and Kelsey Hauge. The contest started on Jan. 17 and the deadline to enter was Jan. 21.

The four finalists were entered into a drawing with Hauge being named the winner of the $200 Sonny's gift card. Over 400 people entered the contest with the Sidney and Bridgeport grocery store with guesses ranging from the end of February through mid-May.

Last year, "Sonny's Super Snow Mountain" lasted until April 10.
