Scottsbluff Police respond to two-vehicle injury accident
SCOTTSBLUFF (October 22) -- At about 1:11 p.m. today, Scottsbluff Police were dispatched to a two-vehicle motor vehicle injury accident at the intersection of Highway 26 and E 27th Street.
The investigation determined a black 2018 Dodge Ram pickup driven by Juan Munoz, 24, of Torrington, Wyo., and a red 2009 Toyota Prius driven by Adam Sanders, 35, of Scottsbluff, collided.
The pickup was southeast bound on Highway 26 and the Toyota was westbound on E 27th Street prior to entering the intersection. Witnesses stated the pickup failed to stop at the red traffic signal for Highway 26 traffic and entered the intersection where it collided with the passenger side of the Toyota.
Three occupants of the Toyota suffered minor injuries. Munoz was issued a citation for the traffic signal violation. A portion of the intersection was closed for about one hour. Both vehicles were towed from the scene due to damages and are total losses.
Scottsbluff Fire Department and Regional West Ambulance Services assisted in the response.
