Brian Hardin announces reelection campaign for Nebraska Legislature

GERING, Ne. -- State Senator Brian Hardin, a conservative Republican representing District 48, announced Monday he will seek a second term in the Nebraska Legislature.
A fourth-generation Scotts Bluff County native, small business owner, and conservative reformer, Hardin was first elected in 2022 and has focused on limited government, personal liberty, and opportunity for western Nebraska.
“I’m running for reelection because we still have work to do to reduce government overreach, create good jobs, and ensure Nebraska remains a place where families can thrive,” said Hardin. “I’ll keep fighting for the values that make our state strong—faith, freedom, and fiscal responsibility.”
Hardin serves as Chairman of the Legislature’s Health and Human Services Committee, where he brings a strong conservative voice to issues ranging from protecting life and parental rights to pushing back on bureaucratic overreach. He is focused on reforming broken systems, reducing government intrusion, and prioritizing Nebraska families. Hardin also serves on the Banking, Commerce & Insurance Committee, the Retirement Systems Committee, and the Legislative Oversight Committee, where he advocates for transparency, accountability, and limited government across all levels of state policy.
District 48 includes Scotts Bluff, Morrill, and Kimball counties. Since taking office, Hardin has helped champion policies that support agriculture, protect the unborn, defend constitutional rights, back law enforcement and first responders, and eliminate mandates that threaten personal freedom. He’s also worked to position western Nebraska for long-term economic growth.
Hardin graduated from Gering High School, earned a bachelor’s degree from Chadron State College, and holds a master’s degree from Denver Seminary. He and his wife Lili live in Gering and are active in their local church.
