SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. - A new CBD shop opens its doors in Scottsbluff.

Hemp Hearts sells a variety of CBD products including teachers, bath bombs, topicals for pain, sleep formulas, gummies, body lotions, beauty products, face products, capsule, coffee and products for pets.

It is knocked down into three categories; full spectrum, broad spectrum and isolate.

CBD is one cannabinoid but the plant itself has over 120 strains.
Full spectrum contains all the cannabinoids together, Terpene, flavonoids, all fido nutrients and small Missio amounts of THC. Do not take this product if you have to take a drug test for jobs. It will never get you high but will make you fail your test.

Broad spectrum contains everything that full spectrum has except the THC molecules.

Isolate is one cannabinoid to make custom formula.

“We spent about six months doing research on quality companies out there,” said Morgan Faessler-Dermer, Owner/Operator. “I think the ones that we do have are really dialed in. They are all from Colorado so it has been a little bit easier for them to get going with cannabis.”

THC and CBN are keys to unlock receptors so if you took CBD isolate in the past and have not have success, there is a good chance that CBD is just sitting on your receptors as opposed to getting absorbed.

It is important that if you take this product, to be consistent when starting out. The lack of enzymes will have to build up for at least a week or two. Staff says to up the dose after three days if you don’t feel it. Start low and work your way up.

With this corovavirus pandemic, staff is seeing positives and negatives with their business.

The positives comes from repeat customers and those interested in learning more. If you are a resident of Scottsbluff, Gering, Bridgeport or Bayard, you can receive free delivery for the product.

“When you open a new business, that’s what you are looking for is to have that welcome from the community and from other businesses,” explained Garrett Dermer, Owner/Operator. “To get that already one month into it, it’s been a great feeling and hopefully it will continue. Hopefully we can build on this.”

The negatives come from business slowing down. The company has now had to change their hours to only being open on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 10:00am to 4:00pm.

Staff keeps the place sanitized and cleaned often. Customers cannot go past a certain line or touch the product until after purchase. Staff wipes down the booth, counter and door handles after every purchase.

The Dermers were nervous at first to open a business because of the stigma and lack of education.

With no regulations in place, companies use third party lab tests for safety with cannaboids, contaminant like metals and pesticides and percentages.

When it comes to age, smoking products can be purchased for those 21 years and older. Many products can be purchased at 18 but ask staff first.

The Dermers state it’s not just about the cannabinoids; it is about healthy living.

Their product can be used to fight anxiety, panic attacks, build immune system, swelling, diabetes and skin.
