Potter-Dix and Creek Valley to host first round games in D6 playoffs
POTTER, NE - The day after squaring off in Chappell, the Potter-Dix Coyotes and Creek Valley Storm learned their Nebraska State Activities Association (NSAA) D6 postseason fates Saturday morning.
Potter-Dix (8-0) earned the #2 seed and will host #15 Wallace (2-4) in the first round on Friday, Oct. 30. Kickoff time is set for 5:00 p.m. MDT. The Coyotes defeated Wallace 36-31 in the first week of the season.
The game will be broadcast on KSID 1340 AM and 95.7 FM.
Potter-Dix enters the playoffs as D6-6 District champions. It's the team's first playoff appearance since 2014 when they went 5-3.
Creek Valley (6-2) will make their third consecutive NSAA D6 playoff appearance. The Storm enter as the #8 seed and will face #9 Spalding Academy (7-1) on Friday in Chappell. Kickoff is at 5:00 p.m. MDT.
This will be the first matchup between Creek Valley and Spalding Academy since six-man football became sanctioned by the NSAA ahead of the 2018 season.
Last season, Creek Valley made it to the six-man semifinals where it lost to Harvard, last year's Class D6 Champion.
Fellow D6-6 team the Arthur County Wolves (6-2) grabbed #1 seed for the six-man playoffs. They face off against #16 seed Pawnee City (3-5) to open postseason play.
The Wolves made it to the quarterfinals of the playoffs last year before losing to Cody-Kilgore.
This will be the first time Arthur County faces Pawnee City in the NSAA-sanctioned six-man era.
If the Wolves and Storm win their first round matchups, they would face each other in the quarterfinals. Creek Valley won the regular season matchup 64-32.
