It’s been one week since a car full of teen-agers crashed at four in the morning leaving one teen dead and in that time investigators still have not determined who was driving.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s office has noted that alcohol may be a factor in the far west Omaha accident that killed 18-old Jamin Creek last week and are working to find out who supplied the alcohol to the teens.

At the same time Chief Deputy Douglas County Sheriff Wayne Hudson tells NCN, “We are still investigating, we will have further information on who we feel is a driver soon.”

As we first reported investigators looking into the Elkhorn crash are looking to avoid another Gretna.

Two years ago four teen-age girls from Gretna were killed in a late night crash where authorities also put the blame on alcohol, as well as speeding.

But Sarpy County investigators said those who likely had information on the source of the alcohol have never cooperated.

Douglas County tells us the Elkhorn crash may be different from Gretna because of certain evidence obtained in the Elkhorn case.
