POTTER, NE — Potter-Dix has claimed one of the spots at the NSAA Play Production Championships. 

The school won the Class D2-6 District competition this week to advance to state. Potter-Dix's cast and crew earned first place rankings from all three judges for their performance of "Chateau La Roche." 

All members of the cast with a speaking part received Outstanding Acting Awards.

Potter-Dix will perform at 2:15 p.m. CT at Norfolk High School on Wednesday, Dec. 8 at the Play Production State Championships. According to the NSAA, this will be Potter-Dix's first trip to the state championships since 2015 when the Coyotes finished as runner-ups. 

Overall, this is the school's 18th appearance at the Play Production state championships. Potter-Dix has won nine Play Production championships with the most recent coming in 2005. The Coyotes also have claimed two runner-up and two third place finishes at the state championships. 

Before consolidation, Potter qualified for the state competition once in 1982. Dix also made one appearance in 1975.

Potter-Dix joins Hemingford and Gordon-Rushville from the panhandle as schools to qualify for the Play Production state championships. 

Bridgeport, Scottsbluff and Sidney are still yet to compete in their district competitions. Bridgeport performs Friday in Wood River. Sidney and Scottsbluff take the stage Saturday in Gothenburg and Lincoln, respectively.
