Oregon man arrested after over 60 pounds of drugs, handgun found in I-80 traffic stop
KIMBALL COUNTY, NE — A man from the west coast is facing multiple charges after the Nebraska State Patrol found a variety of illegal drugs in his car.
Thirty-five year old Jonathan Crane of Oregon has been lodged in Kimball County Jail after the stop.
The Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) says they pulled over a GMC Terrain on Interstate 80 near Kimball Sunday morning.
During the stop, a trooper saw marijuana in plain view. A subsequent search of the car led to the discovery of 65 pounds of marijuana in the vehicle. According to NSP, meth, cocaine, hash, THC Wax, methadone pills and a concealed handgun were also found.
Crane now faces charges of possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver, carrying a concealed weapon and, possession of a firearm while committing a felony.
This was just one incident in a busy weekend for state troopers. The NSP says they made a total of 15 arrests, issued 19 citations for people driving over 100 miles-per-hour and performed 98 motorist assist this weekend.
