With the MAC tournament approaching next week, we now know how the eight-team bracket will start out. 

The bracket for the Minuteman Activities Conference boys and girls basketball tournaments were released Wednesday. 

On the boys side, Potter-Dix claimed the No. 1 seed with Leyton grabbing the No. 2 seed, Bayard the No. 3 seed and South Platte the No. 4 seed. 

Those four schools will host first round contests on Monday, Jan. 17.

Here is a list of the first round contests in the boys bracket:

No. 8 Banner County @ No. 1 Potter-Dix - 6:30 p.m
No. 7 Creek Valley @ No. 2 Leyton - 6:30 p.m.
No. 6 Minatare @ No. 3 Bayard - 6:30 p.m.
No. 5 Garden County @ No. 4 South Platte - 6:30 p.m.

South Platte earned the top seed on the girls side of the bracket. Other teams that will host first round contests are No. 2 seed Bayard, No. 3 seed Leyton and No. 4 seed Garden County.

The first round of the girls bracket will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 18.

The semifinals and championship games will take place at Bridgeport High School. The semifinals are set for Thursday, Jan. 20, and the championship games will be played Saturday, Jan. 22.
