Chadron overcame a 10-point halftime deficit with a 12-0 run to start the 3rd quarter to take a 34-32 lead, only to see Ogallala answer with a 21-7 run and go on to a 60-47 win in the C1-12 sub-district semifinals on Wednesday.

Trailing by 5 to start the 4th quarter, Chadron failed to get their first basket of the final quarter until the 1:23 mark, pushing the deficit out to 14.

The Indians were propelled by 9 made threes to just one for the Cards.

Justus Alcorn led the way for Chadron with 11 points.

The Cardinals fall to 13-9 on the season and play the waiting game to see if they receive one of four wildcards into the district finals.

Hay Springs, Cody-Kilgore advance at D2-12 Tourney

Hay Springs and Cody-Kilgore were winners at the D2-12 sub-district tourney in Hay Springs.

Cody-Kilgore won just their 4th game of the season 48-37, sending the Rams to a final record of 7-15.

Hay Springs advanced with a 71-19 drubbing of Sioux County.

The Hawks will meet the Cowboys in tonight’s championship game. Hay Springs beat Cody-Kilgore 47-45 to open the season back on December 3rd.

Cody-Kilgore and Hay Springs will tip off at 6:00 pm.
