HARRISBURG - The Banner County Volunteer Fire Department is consulting the State Fire Marshall's Office in an investigation into a house fire on Missouri Avenue in Harrisburg at approximately 1:40 a.m. Saturday.
A single-story home was partially engulfed in the blaze, with flames coming from the roof of the home, when firefighters arrived on-scene. Banner County Fire Chief Tim Grubbs said in a Facebook post that firefighters had the fire under control within an hour and a half.
"We could not do an interior attack because we had unstable floors, two collapsed ceilings and a collapsed roof," Grubbs said. He suspects the cause of the fire to be electrical in nature.
Firefighters remained at the home until about 6 a.m. Saturday.
The home was unoccupied and vacant at the time of the fire.
Firefighter Ministry also responded to the scene.
