Police investigate hit and run accident in Scottsbluff

SCOTTSBLUFF - The Scottsbluff Police Department responded to a two-vehicle injury hit and run accident at the intersection of 11th Ave. and E 10th St. 

According to police, a 2005 red Ram 1500 pickup, driven by Josephina Gonzalez, was westbound on E 10th St when she was struck by a 2003 silver Infinity, driven by Katy Yaniria Castro. The pickup tipped on its side. 

Gonzalez was extricated from the pickup by the Scottsbluff Fire Department and transported to Regional West Medical Center.

Castro is accused of fleeing the seen south on 11th Ave. She was later arrested for leaving the scene of an injury accident without rendering aid or identifying themselves.
