HARRISBURG, Neb. — Three Banner County Courthouse employees have been censured after being found guilty of public indecency charges.

On Dec. 28th of last year, two Banner County officials and an employee faced legal trouble when they were accused of sexual acts and drinking alcohol at the Banner County Courthouse.

According to court records, 58-year-old Monty Stoddard, 47-year-old Bernice Huffman and 32-year-old Caily Reece were handed charges of public indecency and consumption of alcohol on private property.

Stoddard is the Banner County treasurer and Huffman is the county assessor. Reece is a county employee who works under the county clerk.

After arraignment earlier this month, all three employees accepted a plea deal, entering no contest pleas to the public indecency charges. The consumption of alcohol on private property charge was dropped.

According to the Star-Herald, the Banner County Commissioners voted to censure Stoddard and Huffman during the board’s meeting earlier this month.

Both Stoddard and Huffman are running unopposed for their positions in the 2022 general election.
