Riverside Discovery Center welcomes new zebra foal

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. -- The Riverside Discovery Center has announced the birth of a new zebra foal.

According to the zoo, mother Zelda gave birth to a male foal on May 13th. Zoo officials said the foal is nursing consistently and putting on weight. They also said the baby is healthy and expected to fit in with the herd.

Officials at RDC said they are working to grow the zoo's Zebra herd over the next several years.

The baby and its mom are currently viewable to the south of the facility's chimpanzee building.
