SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP) - Officers were dispatched to Bearcat Stadium in response to a complaint that a man was walking away from the area claiming he had a gun and a hatchet.

The time of the call was at 7:30am.

This man was identified as 55-year-old Donovan Delgado.

Officers located Delgado in Pioneer Park north of Bearcat Stadium.

Court documents stated that Delgado left a bag in the bathroom at the park that contained the hatchet and a blade in a sheath.

He claimed that these items were for his protection.

Delgado stated to officers that if they were going to continually contact him he would have something in his bag that would “go off” to make the officers a “stain in the earth.”

Delgado was arrested for Possession of a Deadly Weapon by a Prohibited Person and Disturbing the Peace.
