SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. — A Scottsbluff man pleads not guilty to class three felony.

On May 25th around 7:30 a.m. Scottsbluff officers were dispatched to Bearcat Stadium in response to a complaint of a man walking around the area claiming he had a hatchet and a gun.

Police reported locating 51-year-old, Donovan Delgado north of Bearcat Stadium. Officials reported locating a hatchet in his possession.

Delgado reportedly told authorities the hatchet was for protection. 

Police said they then learned that Delgado was a felon.

Police reported Delgado told authorities, that if they kept contacting him, he had something in his bag that was going to “go off” and would “make a stain in the earth.”

Delgado was arrested and charged with possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person and disturbing the peace.

Delgado was booked at Scott’s Bluff Detention Center. 

Delgado had his hearing on Friday, June 17th, and according to court documents, he pled not guilty.

Delgado’s bond was set at $3,000.
