POTTER, Neb. -- The Potter Volunteer Fire Department use 11 thousand gallons of water to put out a fire.

On Sunday, around 7:20 a.m. the PVFD received a fire call at the Potter Dump Pit.

The Department said when they arrived on the scene the dump was completely engulfed in flames. They said they then contained the fire to only the dump pit. The fire was less than an acre.

PVFD said they responded with seven different apparatuses and 15 personnel. The Dept. used 11 thousand gallons of water to extinguish the fire.

PVFD said the Village of Potter assisted with a front-end loader.

The Dept. was back at the Fire Hall before 9 a.m.
