OGALLALA - Emergency officials responded to two vehicle accidents in Keith County Wednesday night. 

The first accident closed the westbound lanes of Interstate 80 five miles west of Ogallala at mile marker 126. Numerous witnesses reported standstill traffic on the road.

Another accident near Brule happened on the right shoulder of the eastbound lanes of I-80 at mile marker 118. The road didn't close, but officials advised drivers to slow their speed when approaching the scene.

Road construction is present in the area and severe storms had just moved through the area, but the cause of the accidents wasn't immediately available.
