OMAHA, Neb. -- A Potter man was sentenced on Wednesday to over nine years for drug-related charges, like possession with intent to distribute.

35-year-old Stetson Reinick was sentenced for possession with intent to distribute five grams or more of actual methamphetamine on July 26 in federal court.

Officials said Reinick was sentenced to 110 months' imprisonment. There is no parole in the federal system and he will begin a five-year term of supervised release after his prison release.

According to court documents, law enforcement did a trash pull at Reinick and co-defendant, Stephanie Mitchell's home. It was reported that police then seized foil with burned residue that tested positive for heroin.

Officials said police were able to obtain a search warrant for the home. It was reported while searching the home, officers found a backpack in a back bedroom with 21 grams of actual meth, scales, and drug paraphernalia. They also found a handgun between the mattress and headboard on Reinick's side of the bed in his bedroom.

Mitchell's trial is scheduled for Aug. 22, 2022. This case was investigated by Cheyenne County Sheriff’s Office.
