Man is behind bars after reportedly waving and shooting firearm in neighborhood

PEETZ, Colo. -- Authorities respond to a man reportedly shooting at residents.
On August 7, at approximately 5:14 p.m. Logan County Deputies were dispatched to the 700 Block of North St., located in the Town of Peetz, in reference to a male in the street waving a firearm. It was also reported that the male had fired the firearm at residents while in the street.
Upon the arrival of Logan County Deputies, the male party, identified as Dominic Flores, 46, complied with all commands given and was taken into custody without incident. A firearm was located on the scene that was deemed to be an unloaded pellet gun, upon further inspection.
Sterling Emergency Communications Center was asked to complete a Reverse 911 call to the residents of Peetz, asking them to shelter in place during the incident. Social Media notifications were also completed to help spread the word of the incident for the safety of the residents of Peetz.
Mr. Flores had been contacted on Friday, after a disturbance. However, law enforcement did not have enough probable cause to arrest him, or place him into protective custody. As he was able to answer the questions asked of him, and while angry, he was not deemed to be a threat to himself or others based on conversations with him.
Mr. Flores was booked into the Logan County Jail on the following charges:
A class five felony of menacing, A class two misdemeanor of reckless endangerment, and four counts of harassment, a Class 2 Misdemeanor.
