NORTH PLATTE, Neb. -- The 911 Center in North Platte was down overnight, after what's being called a catastrophic power failure.

It's called the second-such failure the Dispatch Center has suffered in the last six months.

North Platte Police said their Dispatch Center lost the ability to receive calls at about 2:30 Thursday morning.

It was reported that Dawson and Buffalo County were able to help and no emergency calls were missed.

Police Chief Steve Reeves said it was old equipment, and that they haven't been able to purchase replacement parts.

The center bypassed some of the old equipment, and was back up and running after about two hours.
