SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. -- Police in the panhandle reported finding over seven grams of meth during a home search.

On Aug. 8, Scottsbluff Police served a search warrant to a residence on 21st Ave, where both 34-year-old Catalino Varela and 21-year-old Alexis Pacifico lived.

Police reported while they were clearing the entryway, they noticed Varela tossing baggies out the window.

Officers said they collected the tossed baggies and found one with three Oxycodone Hydrochloride pills and another with 7.4 grams of meth. 

Officers also reported finding a bong with white residue and red liquid, zip lock bags of marijuana, a rubber container with a waxy substance, multiple foils containing a burnt white residue, a glass pipe containing white residue, a rubber container and a gold canister containing a crystal-like substance. 

Varela was arrested and charged with possession of meth, possession of fentanyl, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to court records, Varela made bond on Aug. 10 and missed his hearing on Aug. 26. Varela had an arraignment on Sept. 9 and a hearing on Sept. 23. 

Pacifico was charged with possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

Both cases were bound over to district court, where each faces an arraignment next month.
