Beutler, Craig combine for 19 kills in Leyton's victory over South Platte

Leyton junior Kaitlyn Craig finished with nine kills, two blocks and an ace serve, and the Warriors defeated South Platte in four sets Tuesday night in Big Springs.

BIG SPRINGS - Leyton junior Kaitlyn Craig finished with nine kills, two blocks and an ace serve, and the Warriors defeated South Platte in four sets Tuesday night in Big Springs. 

Trinity Beutler added 10 kills and 2 aces. Shawnee Gamble ended the match with 7 kills and 3 ace serves. 

Leyton had a total of 35 kills, 3 blocks and 10 aces. 

Senior Avery Hayward led the Knights with 16 kills and a block. Haily Koenen added 6 kills, 6 blocks, and 2 ace serves. 

South Platte ended the night with 25 kills, 10 blocks and 9 ace serves.

Leyton improves to 14-10 this season and hosts South Platte next Tuesday at 4 p.m. Before the Knights travel to Dalton, they will play at Banner County Friday at 4 p.m.
