Potter-Dix piles up total yards in victory over Garden County

POTTER - Junior Quarterback Brayden Kasten threw one incomplete pass, rushed for three touchdowns, and returned an interception for a touchdown in Potter-Dix's 55-8 victory over Garden County Friday afternoon in Potter.
Kasten finished 8-9 passing for 100 yards and a score. He added 108 yards on the ground on six carries. He had nine tackles, including a tackle for loss, on defense.
Senior Luke Kasten was 7-10 through the air with 106 yards and a touchdown. He also had 84 yards rushing on 12 carries and two scores. On defense, Kasten record eight tackles, including three for a loss.
Junior Caden McConnell and freshman Dylan Tabor each caught a touchdown pass. Tabor finished with 70 yards receiving on a pair of catches. McConnell caught four passes for 46 yards. Zachary Rotert led Potter-Dix with five catches for 71 yards.
Junior Jaxen Buettenback had a team-high 10 tackles, including four tackles for loss, on defense.
The Coyotes finished with 408 yards of total offense.
Garden County senior Johnny Vargas led the Eagles with 18 carries for 39 yards and a six-yard touchdown run. They had a total of 54 rushing yards, went 9-21 passing for 43 yards, for a total of 97 yards.
Potter-Dix remains unbeaten at 7-0 (3-0 in D6-5). They will travel to Big Springs next Friday at 7 p.m. to play South Platte (2-4, 1-1). News Channel Nebraska will have live coverage of the game on 98.7 FM, newschannlnebraska, and the free NCN app.
Garden County drops to 5-2 (2-1 in the D6-5 District) and will square-off against Creek Valley (0-7) (0-3) at home next Friday starting at 7 p.m.
