POTTER - Cheyenne County rivals, Leyton and Potter-Dix, will meet on the volleyball court for the third time this season Tuesday when they compete for the Class D2-11 Sub-District Championship in Potter.

First serve is set for 6 p.m. and will air on 98.7 FM, newschannelnebraska.com, and the free NCN app. The two teams split their pair of matches in the regular season.

Senior Kallie Crossman finished with 27 assists, surpassing 1,000 career assist, and the Coyotes swept Minatare, 3-0, in the semifinals. Crossman added four ace serves and three kills. Senior Tyenne Berner led the team in kills with nine and had two ace serves. Behind Berner, Jayden Shoemaker, Madison Williams, and Lily Tabor all had seven kills. Potter-Dix finished with a team total of 35 kills, 2 blocks, and 12 ace serves. 

The Warriors swept Creek Valley, 3-0, in the other semifinal match. Junior Trinity Beutler had 15 kills and an ace serve. Sophomore Zaili Benish got five kills and four aces. Leyton had a team total of 41 kills, 4 blocks, and 8 ace serves.  

The Storm end the season with an 8-21 record. Senior Elizabeth Whiting finished the night with 6 kills and two ace serves. Creek Valley had a total of 13 kills and four ace serves. 

Anegelique Camargo led the Indians with 9 kills and 6 ace serves. Minatare, who ends the season with a 5-25 record, defeated Banner County in the first round Monday afternoon, before being eliminated by Potter-Dix. They finished with 26 kills and 20 ace serves between the two matches. 

Sophomore Riley Jones led Banner County with five kills and 4 ace serves. Another sophomore, Karleigh Leslie, also had six kills to give the Wildcats a total of 18 kills and 11 ace serves. They finished the season 0-24.
