POTTER - The Cheyenne County Sheriff's office is investigating a two-vehicle crash in Potter that resulted in one driver being transported to the hospital by medical helicopter Monday afternoon.

Sheriff Adam Frerichs says Christy Fry, 53, of Potter, stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of Highway 30 and Chestnut Street. As she attempted to make a left-hand turn onto the highway in her 2007 Honda passenger car, she was struck by a 2012 Kenworth semi-tractor hauling a tractor on a flatbed trailer.

The truck, owned by Paul Reed Construction, was driven by Christopher Landreth, 42, of Gering.

Fry had to be extricated from the vehicle and was transported to Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff by Airlink medical helicopter for treatment on her injuries.

No injuries were reported for the truck driver.

U.S. Highway 30 was closed in both direction for nearly two hours.

Cheyenne County Sheriff's Deputies, Potter Volunteer Fire Department, Regional West Ambulance Service, Nebraska State Patrol, and the Nebraska Department of Roads responded to the scene.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing at this time.
