LODGEPOLE, Neb.- Amy Richard opened the Wildeflour Baking Company at 832 Sheldon Street in Lodgepole back on October 22nd.  Saturday she was joined by her husband, her son and several members of the Cheyenne County Chamber of Commerce as she took hold of the giant scissors and cut the ribbon, immediately welcoming a large crowd of hungry well wishers into her business.

A self taught baker, Richard has been preparing custom cakes and other goodies for special occasions for years, but now she has a storefront where tea and coffee drinks as well as soup and panini specials will accompany her case full of delectable treats. The milestone is not lost on Richard.

"It's a dream finally coming true," Richard said. "It's one of those things where you work so hard for so long and when it finally happens its like a breath of fresh air because we did it!"

Richard also loves the small town her and her family now call home.

"The community, the people here are so awesome and they have been so supportive and there is no way we could have done it without them," Richards said. Lodgepole has about 300 residents but Richard has been taking orders from all over the county, making it that much more fitting that today she becomes a member of the Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce, a group charged with supporting local businesses.
