I-80 shut down from North Platte to Wyoming, along with county roads

SIDNEY, Neb. -- Roads are beginning to face significant challenges in parts of the Panhandle and western Nebraska.
The northeast portion of the Panhandle is seeing the most difficulty, especially along the South Dakota border.
Nebraska Highway 27 is considered impassable by the Nebraska Department of Transportation due to blowing and drifting snow, as is Nebraska Highway 250. Highway 87 south of Hay Springs is also considered impassable by NDOT.
Further south, westbound Interstate 80 traffic was shut down near Ogallala due to a crash shortly after 4:30 p.m. MT.
According to NDOT, I-80 is now closed from North Platte to the Wyoming state line due to the weather.
The area of the Panhandle near the South Dakota border has seen the most snow, but the high winds continue to be the greatest factor affecting traffic in far western Nebraska.
Cheyenne County Sheriff Adam Frerichs announced all county roads are closed due to the storm.
