Sidney – The City of Sidney is in a snow emergency as of Monday, December 12, at 5:00 pm MST and will be under one until further notice.

Due to the blizzard like conditions the City of Sidney has canceled events for Tuesday, December 13, moving most of them to Wednesday, December 14, at 12:00 pm

The Historic Preservation Board Meeting that was scheduled for today will be moved to Wednesday, December 14 at 12:00 pm and the City Council meeting will be rescheduled from December 13 to Wednesday, December 14 at 7:00 pm.

The City of Sidney offices and the Sidney Public Library will be closed today and there will be no dial-a-ride shuttle service for December 13.

Also expect delays in trash pickup for Tuesday, December 13 and Wednesday 14.

City snow plows are out now but they are trying to keep it for emergency vehicles only to keep them safe while on duty.

Due to the high winds, they are worried that clearing the streets will cause more of a mess for the people of Sidney. David Scott is hoping to get the plows out early Wednesday morning to clear the streets but once again it does all depend on when the wind will calm down.
