BIG SPRINGS, Neb.- Westbound I-80 is back open after an accident shut down the interstate shortly before 2:30 pm on Thursday.  The accident was in the area of exit 101 and and all traffic backed up to the exit 107 in Big Springs had to exit the interstate.

The shut down came just hours after the stretch of road was reopened. I-80 had been closed since early Tuesday morning due to blowing snow and slushy conditions.

There is no word on a cause of the accident however one tractor trailer and one SUV were involved.  The tractor trailer jackknifed and the SUV sustained front end damage.
