CHADRON, Neb. -- Winter weather is having an effect on the Panhandle in numerous ways.
In hopes of keeping people home until driving conditions improve, Chadron has announced that is extending the deadline for paying utility bills until Monday.
City officials told news partner KSCR/KBPY on Thursday that the decision will allow people to avoid braving the streets to make a payment and avoid a late penalty. Customers now have until 5:00 Monday afternoon to pay.
For more information or to make other payment arrangements, call the city utilities office at 308-432-0505
