BRIDGEPORT - Sidney's Jadyn Cottam and Saphira Whitley became the first wrestlers in school history to win district championships and qualify for the Nebraska School Activities Association State Championships.

Cottam (31-4) won the 105-pound weight division with a pin of Tiearra Pollard (31-3), of Norfolk, in 3:47. Whitley (14-5) defeated Madelyn Tryon (18-6), of Southwest, by pin in 1:09 to win the 190-pound division.

Chadron also had a pair of district champions. Fia Rasmussen (24-4) defeated Arianna Canseco (17-2), of Gering, by pin in 3:45 to win the 135-pound division. At 145 pounds, Kenli Boeselager (22-1) pinned Jaycee Hampton (18-12), of North Platte, in 59 seconds.

The NSAA Girls District 4 Meet was held at Bridgeport High School on Friday and Saturday.
