Scotts Bluff County to create new public transit fund

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP) - The Scotts Bluff County Commissioners Board voted to allow for the creation of a new public transit fund on Monday.
This fund will come from already existing funds and will be used to create benches, as well has provide shelters for those benches, and some maintenance costs will be covered by this fund.
The board as well discussed and passed to allow the Sheriffs Department to seek advisory for creating a new Juvenile Detention Center.
“We are now running into the same problem on the east side of the state where Madison, Lancaster, Douglas those places are all just full and can’t even get a bed available,” commented Chief Deputy Sheriff, Troy Brown.
The next Scotts Bluff County Commissioners meeting will be held on Feb. 20.
