LINCOLN, Neb. -- Authorities in Lincoln are investigating a single vehicle accident that resulted in the death of a 47-year-old Ogallala woman.

The Lincoln Police Department said the accident happened near N 14th St. and Cornhusker Highway, and resulted in the death of Laura Devries.

On Friday around 8:15 p.m., the Lincoln Police and Lincoln Fire were dispatched to N 14th St. and Cornhusker Highway for a reported injury crash.

The investigation determined that a Ford Expedition had been heading east on Cornhusker Highway and exited using the off ramp towards N 14th St, police said.

The vehicle then came to rest in the grassy area east of the N 14th St. entrance ramp to Cornhusker Highway.

LPD said that both people in the vehicle were taken to a local hospital where the passenger, Devries, was pronounced dead.
