A Nebraska native, it was my first grade class at Bayard Elementary School where I was asked to draw what I wanted to be when I grew up. I drew a stick figure in front of a desk, speaking into a microphone that had a cable running to a tower.  It was clear that day that I would never be an artist. But while the microphone was too big, the cable was too short and the stick figure was.. well.. too skinny, it turned out I was onto something.

I went on to enjoy writing and the news and was fascinated with what it took for these people that were breaking stories to break stories. I was the columnist for my high school newspaper for all four years, and yes, I made it through in four years.

I attended Colorado State University and earned a Journalism and Technical Communications Degree, but more importantly, found my way into the studio that a first grade me had sketched out years earlier. It was on KCSU-FM in Ft Collins where I made my radio debut. I hosted my first two radio shows there and made my first two million radio mistakes there. Still, with my head held high I made it where I was going, the Carolina School of Broadcasting.

After completing school I started my internship for the largest media organizations in the world. There, I learned that I didn't know anything about radio yet! They hired me to a full-time position anyway.

I spent 12 years broadcasting in the southeastern United States. This Nebraska kid got to cover hurricanes and traffic jams and big city problems. I also got to connect with people from so many different people from different walks of life.

I've had incredible opportunities to volunteer with places like the United Way, Habitat for Humanity and the Humane Society.

Ultimately though, home is home and family is family. Opting to be near my family and in the Nebraska panhandle I have come home to serve as Operations Manager and Programming Director for the new KIMB-FM in Kimball. You can hear me on KIMB and on 98.7 The Big Boy.

The community here has left no doubt that I've made a great decision! And Hunter and the gang are ALMOST as nice as they seem on the radio. I look forward to helping out in this community and getting to know even more of you.  Please reach out to [email protected] with what you want to hear on the radio.
