One person flown to Colorado hospital after three-vehicle accident at Lake McConaughy
LAKE MCCONAUGHY - Authorities are investigating three-vehicle injury accident on the north end of Kingsley Damn at Lake McConaughy on Saturday afternoon.
Keystone-Leymoyne Fire Department Chief Ralph Moul says one person involved in the accident was trapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated with hydraulics within three minutes of first responders arriving to the scene at 1:35 p.m.
The person, who has not been named, was transported to Ogallala Community Hospital by ambulance before being flown by medical helicopter to Colorado with severe injuries, according to Moul.
Two other people were transported to the Ogallala hospital by ambulance.
Traffic was rerouted for three hours before the scene was cleared at 4:30 p.m.
Keystone-Lemoyne Fire Department, Ogallala Fire Department, Regional West Ambulances, Nebraska Game & Parks, Keith County Sheriff's Office, and the Nebraska State Patrol all responded to the scene.
