STAPLETON, Neb. -- A central Nebraska School administrator, already with a history of legal troubles, is facing assault charges again.

According to court documents filed in Logan County Court, Stapleton Public School Superintendent Brian Redinger is facing a misdemeanor assault charge.

Very little information about the incident that led to the charge has been released, but a citation filed in Logan County Court lists the assault as having taken place January 31 on school grounds.

Redinger is due in court in June to face the charge. News Channel Nebraska has reached out to both Redinger and School Board President Frank Kramer, but have not yet heard back.

This isn't the first time he's faced assault counts while in charge of a school district. He left as superintendent of the Shelton Public School District in 2016 after a domestic assault arrest. He eventually pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor and was sentenced to 18 months probation.
