SIDNEY - The Sidney Lady Raider Track team won gold in eight events Friday to capture the team title at the John Ganser Invitational at Weymouth Field in Sidney. Sidney's 133 points was 43 points better than second place Ogallala. Gering took the top spot in the boys division with 133 points, edging defending state champion Sidney with 122 points.

Juniors Talissa Tanquary, Chloe Ahrens, and Karsyn Leeling each earned three gold medals on the day. Tanquary won the 400 and 800 meter runs and was part of the winning 4x400 Realy team. Ahrens captured both the 100 Meter and 300 Meter Hurdles and joined Tanquary on the 4x400 Relay. Leeling swept the jumps, capturing gold in the High, Long, and Triple Jump.

Luke Holly also took home three gold medals for the Sidney boys team, winning the 100 and 200 meters while anchoring the 4x100 Meter Relay. Fellow junior Isak Doty finished just nine one-hundreds of a second behind Holly in both the 100 and 200 Meters and was also part of the winning 4x100 Meter Relay team.

Sidney is back on the track next Saturday when the Red Raiders travel to Ogallala for the Ed Moore Invitational.
