Missing Utah teen found during traffic stop near Chappell

CHAPPELL, Neb. -- A missing Utah teen was found when authorities arrested a man after a traffic stop on Interstate 80 in Deuel County. 

The Nebraska State Patrol said they saw 29-year-old Vicson Duarte Lendos of Bountiful, Utah driving on the shoulder of I-80 near Chappell around 3:05 p.m. Sunday. 

Troopers pulled over Lendos, and during the stop it was reported that the trooper found out that one of the passengers, a 16-year-old female, had been reported missing from Bountiful, Utah. 

Lendos was arrested for child abuse - no injury, and was lodged in Cheyenne County Jail. 

This is an ongoing investigation with cooperation from the Bountiful Police Department. 

NSP said the teen was placed into protective custody.
