FORT MORGAN, Colo. -- Just after midnight Saturday morning, Fort Morgan Police were called to the Walmart store. 

According to the police report, officers responded to report of a former employee at the store "acting weird."

At that time, the store was closed to the public, but employees were still working in the store. When officers arrived, the former employee, a 21-year-old man, was isolated to one part of the store. 

As officers were talking to an employee, they heard a gunshot. The former employee was found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Officers rushed to offer medical aid. 

He was transported to St. Elizabeth where he died about three hours later.

The Fort Morgan Police Department reported no danger to the community. The incident remains under investigation.
