SIDNEY -- The Pro Shop at Hillside Golf Course has a new look and is ready for the 2023 season.

Course Director Lance Juelfs announced today opening day starts 9 a.m. Friday.

"I'm excited to get the season going after this winter," Juelfs said.

He said the course is holding up well after the snowy winter. He expects with warmer days predicted, golfing conditions should improve.

Prior to the 2023 season, Juelfs has spent his time remodeling the Golf Shop. The counter has been moved from the south side of the store to near the entrance by the parking lot. Additionally, clothing and accessory displays have been moved for better accessibility.

"I wanted to redo the flow of the other side (of the Golf Shop)," he said.

In celebration of opening weekend, all new merchandise will be offered at 10 percent off, he said. Also this weekend as the Masters weekend, the bar will be offering a Vanilla Peach Smoke Old-Fashioned.

In addition to a full line of new clubs and accessories, Juelfs also has a limited number of club sets for rent.

He has also added 'Bad Birdie" and "Sunday Swagger" to the clothing line, and rebranded the course logo.  Fitting of clubs is also available.

Rates start at about $45 for 18 holes and green fees. The Junior Golf Academy begins June 6th and 7th; sign-ups open now through end of May. Call the Golf Shop at 308-254-2311 for more information or to register.
