Fair Board seeking non-profit agencies to help with beer garden

SIDNEY -- The Cheyenne County Fair online ticket sales program is in place.

Fair Board Treasurer Kip Miller met with the Cheyenne County Commissioners Monday to update the board.

"We have launched the online ticket sales," Miller said in Monday's commissioners meeting.

In March, the Fair Board approved contracting with an online ticket sales program. Advance tickets are available for the PRCA rodeo July 25, truck and tractor pull on July 27, the Ned LeDoux concert July 28 and the demolition derby on July 29.

Miller also presented a proposal for a new Show Ring. The proposal is for a design 80 by 48 with 48-inch high panels. The cost as presented is $15,156. Miller said the proposal has not been voted on by the Fair Board. Monday's presentation was only a proposal.

The commissioners also approved a $5,200 grant from the Visitors Committee for the Fair Board, specifically for Fair promotions.

"They have a really big plan for promoting the Fair this year," said county Tourism Director Kendra Mitchell.

The Fair Board is also seeking nonprofit organizations who are interested in staffing the beer garden. The Fair Board is seeking organizations with a minimum of 10 volunteers. Organizations will retain all tips and a $500 donation from the Cheyenne County Fair Board. Applications are due by May 15.
