SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP) - The Nebraska Medicaid traveled around the state to listen to communities and help with people understanding Medicaid.

On Tuesday, Nebraska Medicaid staff members were able to listen to health care workers to better understand what the residents of Scottsbluff and the surrounding areas need. The members also spoke about all of the important services Medicaid wants to improve in the area. Much of the topics discussed included making sure attendees were understanding of the Medicaid renewal process and how people on Medicaid can be helped.

“I’d say the most important thing is for folks to know that we’re here, we’re accessible, we’re trying our best to understand your experience and we want to hear from you,” Nebraska Medicaid Director Kevin Bagley said.

The Medicaid renewal process started on March 1 and will go till April of 2024, and will review every person on Medicaid in the state of Nebraska. Medicaid staff are asking people to make sure all contact information is up to date. The best way to find out more about the renewal process is by visiting the Access Nebraska website or calling 855-632-7633 or the Department of Health and Human Services at 308-436-6500.

Nebraska Medicaid will have stops in Hastings on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. in the Hastings Public Library and in Omaha at the Omaha Public Library Benson Branch at 5 p.m. on April 24. If people have questions about Nebraska Medicaid, its website can be found here.
