SIDNEY -- Authorities were called to a single-vehicle accident near the intersection of Cheyenne County Roads 38 and 111 at 10:53 p.m. Wednesday.

The vehicle was reported traveling north on County Road 111, about a third of a mile south of County Road 38 when it went off the east side of the road and struck a Wheat Belt power pole, resulting in damage to the pole and the vehicle. Sidney fire and EMS responded. The driver of the vehicle was checked at the scene and he refused transport to Sidney Regional Medical Center.

The driver advised he was traveling about 50 mph when the vehicle went off the road.
