School Board recognizes April students of the month
SIDNEY -- The Cheyenne County School District No. 1 board of education recognized the April students of the month today.
7th grade: Tristen Tanquary -- Tristen has a strong desire to accomplish the goals he sets for himself. He works well individually and understands the value of teamwork. Tristen is respectful and considerate when encouraging others to do and be their best. Tristen has a quiet strength that inspires others to believe in themselves. His level of self-responsibility is very high for a middle school student, as he maintains straight A's in the classroom. Tristen is the son of Rick an Elise Tanquary.
8th grade: Rylan Misegadis -- Rylan is very active in the school by taking part in many sports and activities. She is a very positive leader, and a strong student in the classroom. Thank you, Rylan, for being a great student and a leader in the classroom. Keep working hard. Ryland is the daughter of Justin and Cortney Misegadis.
9th grade: Bryn Jones -- Bryn is involved in singing and reading. Bryn's future plans are to attend Utah State University and major in Math Education. Bryn is the daughter of Jeremee Jones and Shane Jones.
10 grade: Noah Canas -- Noah is involved in Cross County, Track, Basketball, DECA, NHS, Student Council and is a Class Officer. Noah's favorite class is Business Law. Some of his hobbies are health and nutrition, lifting weights, working on his speed and endurance. His future plans are to pursue a degree in Business Marketing along with running Cross Country to improve his time, becoming a team leader and captain. Noah is the son of Mariette and Jamie Canas.
11th grade: Isak Doty -- Isak enjoys playing football, basketball and track at Sidney High. Isak is the son of Jayson and Korrina Doty.
12th grade: Koleman Kaiser -- Koleman is involved in football, basketball and Sidney High Track. Koleman is the son of Kurt and Sarah Kaiser.
The Monthly Performance Award acknowledges other criteria as well as achievement.
These criteria are:
1. Superior academic performance, (or) dramatic improvement of classroom work, G.P.A., or attitude toward learning.
2. Exceptional work effort toward a particular class project,
3. Outstanding contribution toward to the class,
4. Leadership exhibited in the class/school,
5. Citizenship emphasized and modeled,
6. Service to school.
