UPDATE: Citation issued to SUV driver for failing to stop at the stop sign

SCOTTSBLUFF -- Scottsbluff Police and Fire Departments responded to a car versus motorcycle crash with injuries at the intersection of First Avenue and East 19th Street at 8:30 p.m. Sunday June 4.

Preliminary investigation revealed that James Nathaniel Adams, 17 of rural Morrill, was driving a motorcycle north on First Avenue as Cadence DuBray, 17 of Scottsbluff, was driving a passenger vehicle east bound on East 19th Street.

The east bound vehicle collided with the north bound motorcycle in the intersection of First Avenue and 19th Street. The motorcycle rider was transported to Regional West Medical Center by Valley Ambulance Service.

A citation was issued to, Krista Hernandez, 39 of Scottsbluff, for not having proof of insurance. Hernandez is the owner of the passenger vehicle.

Upon further investigation, police determined DuBray's SUV failed to stop at the stop sign just prior to impact with the motorcycle Adams was driving. Police also recommend citing Adams with Operating a Motorcycle Without Required Operators Endorsement.
